Job Summary:
The Marine Electrical Foreman plays a crucial role in overseeing electrical installations and maintenance activities within designated areas of marine projects. This position is essential for ensuring that all electrical systems adhere to quality standards, comply with safety regulations, and meet project schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily discussions with the area supervisor and outfitting teams will focus on addressing electrical installation issues.
- Ensure that updated electrical drawings are accessible in the work area and remove obsolete ones as necessary.
- Monitor the progress of scheduled inspections and project milestones, reviewing schedules at least once a week.
- Assign daily tasks to electrical workers based on project priorities and requirements.
- Manage worker schedules, including breaks and overall working hours, to enhance productivity and minimize downtime.
- Conduct all testing and inspections of electrical systems in the assigned area, ensuring accurate report sheets are completed, signed, and submitted.
- Coordinate with the Technical Equipment (TE) area supervisor to request materials as needed for ongoing electrical work.
- Review updated electrical drawings and promptly communicate any potential additional work to the TE area supervisor.
- Prepare and submit weekly progress reports to the TE area supervisor.
- Collaborate with the TE Senior Supervisor and area supervisor to plan resources (including hours, dates, personnel details, and work areas) at the beginning of each month, updating plans as workload fluctuates or delays occur.
- Raise and discuss any potential additional work requirements with relevant stakeholders.
- Attend monthly dashboard meetings with the Project Coordinator to provide updates and insights on project status and electrical work progress.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Marine Electrical Foreman.
- Deep understanding of marine electrical systems, installations, and maintenance procedures.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in marine electrical work.
- Certification in a relevant electrical trade or equivalent experience.
Preferred:
- Previous experience in a marine environment or the shipbuilding industry.
